Using Mapping Your Future resources to help your students understand money management

Freedom from money worries doesn't come from having more money – it comes from managing what you do have.

It is one of the toughest lessons many of us learn when we start earning our own money. If we don't have a plan for our money, we won't know where it all went.

As financial aid professionals, one of the many hats you wear is one of financial literacy coach or teacher. Both students and parents come into the financial aid office seeking help to understand the cost of college and how to pay for it. You are also responsible for meeting the regulatory requirements of entrance and exit counseling.

In addition to providing 22 types of Online Counseling to help your students, Mapping Your Future offers a number of tools to help you educate and counsel your students. The tools, such as Mapping Your Future's budget calculator, can be used to help your students prepare an in-school budget and a budget for after graduation. Many financial aid professionals use the budget calculator for one-on-one or group entrance or exit counseling sessions.

In addition to the budget calculator, Mapping Your Future has other calculators to help your students and others manage their money.
