Faux vacation |
||||||||||||||||
The news couldn't come at a worse time. According to an August 8 article in the Wall Street Journal, more people are taking a vacation this year, an increase over last year and a big increase over the low number of vacations during the pandemic. However, of those who have taken a vacation, many of them are also working on vacation. According to the article, the search firm Korn Ferry conducted a survey in June and found that about 60 percent of respondents said they planned to check in with work while on vacation and more than a third planned to do so several times a day. So, on the heels of that news, today we are celebrating National Lazy Day. It's probably a day that I think will largely go unnoticed – especially for those of us who work in financial aid or in education in general. It's just not a good time of year to be lazy or be on vacation. The problem is when there's never a good time. – By Catherine Mueller | ||||||||||||||||
