The Paying for College experience

Sometimes paying for college becomes a family affair with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives helping a student pay for college.

If you are a family member who has helped pay the cost of a student’s education, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) would like to hear from you.

The CFPB, along with ABT Associates, will host a listening session on April 14 where family members can share their experiences. Session moderators will ask family members the following questions:

• How did you pay for their college?
• What challenges did you face?
• What information do you wish you’d had?

Family members who join the listening session and share experiences will hear from the CFPB about their online college financing tools and will receive a $50 gift card in appreciation for their time. Sign up for a limited number of remaining spots for Wednesday, April 14 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. EST.

The insights and experience shared during this listening session will help the CFPB develop a tool that families can use to think through paying for their student’s college.
