Review your award letter and accept aid

Your award letter outlines the financial aid package being offered to you by that school. You usually will receive one after you have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and receive your Student Aid Report (SAR).

What to do

You can accept all or part of the financial aid package offered. If you accept any part of the school’s offer, sign the letter, make a copy for your records, and return it to the school. If you receive your award letter electronically, follow your school ’s instructions for indicating which aid you choose to accept.

Note: Be sure you know the format in which your award letter will arrive. If your school will send it to you electronically, be sure you regularly check your e-mail account.
