With all that financial aid professionals need to know, it's a wonder that no institution offers a doctoral program in financial aid administration. As we all know, you have to have specialized knowledge to work in our field. If you want to enhance that knowledge, the Department of Education announced that the registration and housing is open for the 2018 FSA Training Conference in Atlanta. In addition, the Department last week announced the schedule for several training workshops around the country. Truth is, many of us didn't plan for a career in financial aid. The skills we have in other fields, as well as an interest in helping students, made it a good career choice for us. Add that to the training opportunities from the Department of Education, Mapping Your Future, and other sources, and you probably have enough education to have a doctorate in financial aid. | ||||||||||||||||
