Financial aid uncertainty |

Uncertainty makes us a little uneasy. If you have worked in financial aid for very long, you know that uncertainty comes with the territory. Just about the time you think you have some regulation or procedure mastered perfectly, something changes, and then we wait (and sometimes wait a little longer) for guidance on the issue. All that uncertainty can be highly stressful. It is another reminder that we are not in control. The problem is financial aid issues can be complicated and when we can't do our jobs, we face complaints from students or administrators who don't necessarily understand what we can or can't control. It is important though that we know and accept what we have the power to control. If we know that we are doing our best to do our jobs and to help students, it makes facing the uncertainty a little easier. | ||||||||||||||||
