Reminder about maintaining access to federal systems

If you don't use your access to the Federal Student Aid systems, then you are going to lose it.
That's the reminder from the Department of Education in a July 15 Electronic Announcement. In the announcement, the Department reminds users of the systems that their access will be disabled or deactivated after a period of inactivity. For example:
- If a user does not access a specific system for 90 calendar days, the Department will disable the user's access to that system. The number of days of inactivity is unique to each system the user is authorized to access.
- After 365 calendar days of inactivity in a specific system, the user's access will be permanently deactivated.
This reminder includes those user logins to the FSA Partner Connect website, which debuted earlier this year and replaced the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) website.
According to the announcement, the Access and Identity Management System (AIMS) provides the authentication (login) process for many Federal Student Aid systems and software. The Electronic Announcement includes information on whom to contact if access to a system or website is lost due to inactivity.
