If you have an opinion or experience with the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, now is your opportunity to share your thoughts with the U.S. Department of Education.

In a July 26 notice, the Department requests public comment on the PSLF program. The comments, which may be submitted via an online portal or by mail, can include information, research, and suggestions on the administration of PSLF. The Department will use these comments to identify operational improvements to the program. The comments will also help inform decisions about improvements or changes to policies, technology, and borrower experiences within the program.

Comments must be received (or postmarked if sent by mail) by September 24. To submit comments:

  • Visit the Federal eRulemaking Portal and submit your comments electronically.
  • Mail comments to the Office of the Under Secretary, U.S. Department of Education, 400 Maryland Avenue SW, Room [7E307], Washington, D.C. 20202.

You are encouraged to identify your topic clearly, such as borrower experience, operational improvement, or policy change. All comments will be made public, so be careful to only include information you wish to make publicly available.
