The anxiously awaited. . . (okay, so maybe people aren't camping out around-the-clock for it, but it is still important) . . . 2019-2020 Expected Family Contribution (EFC) Formula Guide was released this week by the Department of Education.

The Department issued an August 20, 2018 Electronic Announcement, saying the Guide is now available on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals Website. The Guide includes EFC worksheets and tables for the 2019-2020 processing cycle.

The worksheets and tables in this guide can be used to calculate an estimated EFC for students. The methodology for determining the EFC is found in Part F of Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA).
