In the 27 years that I have been in the financial aid industry, I've often heard that one does not necessarily plan a career in financial aid, but once you get in, it is hard to leave. There is no doubt, though, that it takes a special person to handle all of the long hours, hard work, and research you do to help your students succeed. . . not to mention the patience you exercise dealing with everything from routine tasks to complex situations.
