Celebrate college decision day

It's a decision that will impact your life significantly.

The day you decide where you will attend college becomes a momentous occasion. After all, it determines where you will go, who you will meet, and what you will do for the rest of your life. It's exciting and scary at the same time – but mostly exciting – as new opportunities are opened up for you to explore.

May 1 is a common day to celebrate students' college choice decisions. As exciting as it may be, it can be overwhelming. If you are a student and need help with your college decision, talk to a parent or guardian, a high school counselor, or other adult to help you select the college that's the best fit for you.

If you're a high school counselor or other professional, there are tools available to help you help your students and to host a college decision day event.

On the Better Make Room site, the website for Former First Lady Michelle Obama's Reach Higher Initiative's College Signing Day, you can download a college signing day toolkit to help you get started with a special day or help you with new ideas for the activities you already have planned.
