Fear of the uncertain |
||||||||||||||||
If you have worked in higher education for very long, you know uncertainty comes with the territory. However, the chaos brought on by the pandemic as well as other changes and pressures on college campuses has brought a new level of uncertainty to the entire higher education industry. Everyone in higher education – students, professors, staff, and administrators – especially financial aid administrators – are dealing with incredible amounts of stress. While we can't ignore the chaos swirling around us, we also can't control it. But what we can control is how we do our work. If we know that we are doing our best to do our jobs and to help students, it makes facing the uncertainty a little easier. Of this, I am certain.
