Department of Education takes steps to help millions of borrowers

Earlier this week, the Department of Education announced steps that will bring borrowers closer to public service loan and income-driven repayment forgiveness by addressing what they called historical failures in the administration of the federal student loan programs.

New guides and assessments to help schools administer financial aid

Despite attempts to simplify financial aid for students and parents, it remains a complex process for those administering it and especially for those who are new to the process.

Schools reminded about meeting voter registration requirements along with use of work study funds

Federal elections may be several months away, but postsecondary institutions are being reminded about their requirement to distribute voter registration forms and guidelines for using for federal work study funds for those efforts.

Doing something important
