Preventing future victims of identity theft

It's no reason to celebrate, but it does warrant your attention.

Next week (January 31- February 4) is Identity Theft Awareness Week, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) scheduled several events to educate and inform.

For those who have been impacted by identity theft, you know it creates both financial and emotional problems when you lose control of something as personal as your identity.

To help prevent others from becoming a victim, you can learn more and share the FTC information with your colleagues and students.

Maybe someday there will be a way to completely stop identify theft and then we will have reason to celebrate.
