Keeping up with technology

Sometimes it is the little things that make our jobs so much easier.

Last year I was on a training webinar and the presenter right-clicked on the browser tab to "duplicate" the tab so he would have two tabs to work from. That small step really stuck with me and is helpful most work days. Using Control-F to find what I am looking for on a page is another, much longer-serving, favorite.

I am keenly aware that sometimes revealing the little tips that make our lives easier can be humbling, though. Like the time that I asked aloud "What did we do before the un-do button?" and the young man I was speaking to honestly didn't know because he was too young. He obviously had not had the experience of typing a paper in high school or college and needing to use correction tape to hopefully catch mistakes as soon as they happened so they were more easily fixed without having to retype the page.

Let us know your favorite tips that make your job easier. And in the meantime, keep an eye out for new tips that can help you in the future.
