Listening sessions scheduled on incentive compensation prohibition
February 22, 2023
Anyone interested in having their say about the incentive compensation prohibition impacting postsecondary institutions will have the opportunity to share their thoughts during listening sessions.
In the February 16 Federal Register, the Department of Education announced virtual listening sessions to receive public comments, recommendations, and suggestions “to improve guidance on the incentive compensation prohibition under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), particularly with respect to bundled services.”
The virtual listening sessions will be held on:
- March 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time
- March 9 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time
The Department will also accept written comments via the Federal eRulemaking portal until March 16, 2023.
According to the Department, anyone who would like to present comments at the virtual listening sessions must register by sending an email message to email@example.com no later than 12:00 p.m. Eastern, on the business day prior to the listening session at which they want to speak. The message should include the name of the speaker, the email address of the speaker, and one or more dates and times during which the speaker would be available.
Each participant's comments will be limited to 3 minutes.
