Tip of the Week

September 21, 2022

That time of year

It is an astronomical event.

No, I'm not talking about student loan forgiveness. I'm talking about the arrival of fall this year, which happens tomorrow, September 22.

It may go by unnoticed. We experience the arrival of autumn every year and, besides, we have things to do. If you work in financial aid - boy, do you have a lot to do right now.

But maybe all those other things pale in comparison to the autumnal equinox – the earth spinning on its axis just so and the sun lining up with the equator to give us exactly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night. It seems pretty significant, and it's even more amazing that we are here to experience this every year.

Because of the monumental importance of the autumnal equinox, perhaps we should take a break and delight in those seasonal changes (pumpkin spice latte, maybe?).

And then we can get back to doing our own part to change the world.
