Save key to be removed for 2024-25 FAFSA

Beginning with the 2024-25 FAFSA, students will no longer be asked to create a save key.
The process is changing, eliminating the need for a save key. The save key allowed a student to share their FAFSA with a parent or to return to where they stopped.
More information about the new financial aid process will be released this summer, but it is expected to be much easier for parents to provide information on a student's FAFSA.
By eliminating the save key, the Department of Education removes a step that sometimes was a hurdle – that is, something else to remember – for both students and parents.
